In 2008, a fleet of custom Toyota Prius vehicles was enlisted to help Google map the streets of Japan and South Africa for their Street View effort. Millions of individual photos were then “sewn” together to create a nearly-seamless 360 degree view of the streets and neighborhoods.

This announcement came after three years of controversy surrounding the listing and how it would affect the oil and gas industries sharing the bear’s habitat.
